Soroptimist International is a worldwide organization for women in management and professions, working through service projects to advance human rights and the status of women.

We call our voluntary work “Programme Action”. Programme Action is the reason for being a Soroptimist. It reflects the Vision and the Mission of Soroptimist International.

We work together with North Tyneside Council.

VODA is a registered charity providing advice, training, information and support to volunteers and voluntary and community groups in North Tyneside.

On Monday, 22nd March 2010, President Shirley Hallam, Soroptimist International Tynemouth, Whitley Bay and District welcomed charity representatives to the Open Evening where she was delighted to present Peter Johnstone, Breast Cancer Campaign Coordinator, with the final cheque for over £7,500.
